Tiffany Baxter

Instruments: Voice

Tiffany Baxter received her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and has dedicated her life to the study and teaching of voice. Over the years, she has studied under a variety of master teachers. When working with voice students, her aim is to bring about the most freedom and consistency possible in each performer’s technique. Her students have experienced many successes including acceptance to All-State and Nationals with MMEA, obtaining lead roles in musical theater productions, winning vocal competitions, and receiving scholarships, awards, and getting into college music programs of their choice. She is a member of NAfME and NATS and has served on the board of the Boston Chapter of NATS for seven years in several different roles including President, Vice President, and Festival Chair.

Tiffany has been teaching voice for over 15 years and on the North Shore since 2007. In addition to teaching at the Fabulous School of Music, Tiffany has taught voice lessons at the Brookwood School, Newton Music Academy, The Waring School and currently is a visiting lecturer and voice teacher at Salem State University. At the Waring School in Beverly, she served as the Performing Arts Chair and directed choruses. Her musical direction credits include Mary Poppins, Sweeney Todd, Little Women, Annie, Seussical, The Little Mermaid, Willy Wonka, Hairspray, and more.

As a soprano, Tiffany has been praised for her “angelic, lilting, and beautiful” voice. She is a versatile performer of opera, oratorio, theater, and musical theater and has been especially noted for her operatic portrayals of Pamina and The Second Lady in The Magic Flute, Mercedes in Carmen, and Phyllis in Iolanthe. Equally at home on the oratorio stage, she has received acclaim for her performances in the Vivaldi Gloria, Faure Requiem, and the Schnittke Requiem. She was a member of Oregon’s Portland Opera Chorus, a Young Artist with the Opera Theater of St. Louis, and a winner of the Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Competition. Ms. Baxter has been seen in musical theater and plays with the Lakewood Theatre Company (Oregon), Marblehead Little Theatre and Stage 284. Her roles include Sarah in Guys and Dolls, Laurie in Oklahoma!, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, and Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest. Recently, Ms. Baxter has focused on the music of Leonard Bernstein and has performed his vocal music in multiple recitals on the North Shore in collaboration with her colleagues. In the Fall of 2019, she will appear as Blanche Ingram in Jane Eyre at Christ the Redeemer Church in Danvers.

We at the Fabulous School of Music are so honored and fortunate to have her back, bringing her expertise & passion for teaching voice for our many students at the school.
