Patrick Valentino

Instruments: Trumpet, Piano

A native of New Jersey, Patrick has been teaching private and group lessons on trumpet and piano for over a decade. He holds music degrees from Ithaca College, New England Conservatory, Montclair State University and has studied at the Moscow Conservatory in Russia. Trained as a conductor and composer, Patrick has led numerous ensembles including the Ithaca and Cornell Symphonies in New York, the Monmouth Symphony, and Symphony NOVA, among others. His music has been performed on 3 continents and has appeared on television and radio. He frequently performs on piano, trumpet, and organ, and is currently Director of Music at St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott, where he leads two choirs from the newly-installed 1874 George Stevens organ. He is currently forming a contemporary chamber ensemble which will perform in cross collaboration with other art forms. Patrick has a vast amount of experience in music education. In addition to maintaining private lessons, he has also taught individual students and classes at the Montclair State University Preparatory Division, Winthrop School of Performing Arts and the Summer Music Academy and a graduate assistant at Ithaca College. He is dedicated to providing a well-rounded education for students in a fun and engaging way, combining his lessons with some theory, history and improvisation to help students make connections between each with every new piece they learn. We are very fortunate and happy to have Patrick on our faculty, teaching piano and trumpet at the Fabulous School of Music.
