Professionally performing and recording musician from 1976 to the present, Tom has opened for several national acts such as Foghat, Johnny Winter, Tommy James, The Joe Perry Project, Robin Trower, The Stray Cats, The Monkees, Third Eye Blind, Kix & Gary Hoey, among others. Tom played bass with the UNH Jazz Band from 1976 – 1981, performing with jazz greats such as Clark Terry, Dizzy Gillespie, Billy Taylor, and Joe Williams.

In 1985, Tom was nominated for a GRAMMY AWARD for Best Rock Instrumental Performance with the track, “Back to Earth” featured on the “Northern Star 1” album. Other nominees for the award included Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Beck, Jon Butcher and Yngwie Malmsteen, losing the award to rock legend, Jeff Beck. Several years and recording/live projects later, Tom now performs with his talented wife, Melissa, in a Beatles Acoustic Duo called “2 of Us”!

Tom has been teaching full time since 1990 and owns and manages the Fabulous School of Music since 2002. He teaches both Bass Guitar & Guitar as well as Songwriting & Music Theory. His specialty is teaching the many styles and techniques of Modern Bass playing (slap, tap, funk, rock, jazz, reading, soloing and grooving). His whole teaching philosophy is “A good teacher is one that can transfer their motivation, passion and enthusiasm for their instrument, to the student in a fun & educational manner, helping them grow to reach their musical potential.”
