Fabulous School of Music “Rock School” Program

Our Fabulous School of Music “Rock School Program” Philosophy:

At the Fabulous School of Music, we know it is important for students to learn their instruments by providing great teachers who teach private lessons, directing and inspiring students along their musical paths and helping them with their overall musical development.  That development can be sped up or slowed down by how much the student practices their assignments between lessons.  Having a student join a rock ensemble is a tremendous way to jump start that development.  Joining a rock ensemble group, forces the student to prepare songs not only for themselves but for the other members of the group as well.  Healthy peer pressure? YES!

Joining a Rock Ensemble group is an invaluable opportunity for students to be inspired as musicians, to get a taste of what it is like to work in a group to prepare for that big “gig”, while having fun with others.  The groups decide on the songs/material to be worked on throughout the sessions.  Students will learn basic and advanced song forms, arranging, singing lead or backing harmonies, gain instrumental coaching, soloing and the experience of working musically in a band with their musical peers.  At the end of the semester, the bands will get to perform their songs on stage in front of an audience of family and friends at a local venue, date and time to be determined for each session. These performances are priceless for the students, even more so for their friends and families!
